The Grand Finale: Rodger Reaches the Top! Our reading mission has reached its final stop! Rodger the Elf has finished his tour of Beaminster St Mary's Academy in the most important place of allMr Marklew's office! Rodger was found perched atop the very popular Storey Treehouse series by Andy Griffiths and Terry Denton, and he even had a giant copy of Sing a Christmas Song open and ready for a festive carol! Rodger has had such a wonderful time "popping up" all over the school to share his favorite Christmas stories. From the Nativity to the Christmasaurus and even those Stinky Sprouts, he hope he's inspired every child to find some magic in a book this December. Thank you, Rodger, for helping us celebrate the joy of reading! A Golden Goodbye! There were a few happy tears and lots of smiles in Seahorse Class this morning as we found Elvis's final surprise. Our friendly visitor has left us a beautiful goodbye letter nestled in some sparkly silver tinsel. He told us how much he enjoyed exploring our classroom, watching us learn and playing with our toys, but now it's time for him to return to Father Christmas to help get everything ready for Christmas Eve! As a special parting gift, Elvis left a treasure trove of gold chocolate coins for all the children to enjoy. What a kind and thoughtful elf! We've loved every minute of his mischief and magic. An Elephant-Sized Reading Adventure! Guess who was spotted hitching a ride on our beautiful St Mary's elephant yesterday? It was Rodger the Elf! He wasn't just there for the ride, though. He brought along another fantastic winter book: The Snow Thief by Alice Hemming and Nicola Slater. It's a hilarious story about a squirrel who is convinced someone has stolen the snow! Rodger is having so much fun exploring every corner of Beaminster St Mary's Academy to find the best spots to enjoy a story. We wonder where he's hiding today? The Stars of Our Show! And that's a wrap! So incredibly proud of every single child who took part in this year's Nativity. They filled the stage with so much joy and Christmas spirit. A special, massive 'Well Done' goes out to those stars who stepped into new roles at the very last minute due to sickness. Taking on a new part with zero notice isn't easy, but you did it with such confidence and truly saved the show! You are absolute superstars. A huge thank you to everyone who helped with costumes, lines, and cheers from the audience.
